The Marble Algae Eater, also known as the Sucking Loach or Chinese Algae Eater, is a popular and hardy fish in the aquarium hobby. These fish are characterized by their distinctive black and yellow stripes and sucker-like mouth, which they use to scrape algae off of surfaces in the aquarium.

Originating from Southeast Asia, the Marble Algae Eater requires a well-maintained aquarium with plenty of hiding places and clean water. They prefer a tank size of at least 30 gallons and can grow up to 6 inches in length. The Marble Algae Eater is a peaceful fish that can be kept with other non-aggressive fish.

In terms of diet, the Marble Algae Eater is primarily herbivorous, and their diet should consist of algae wafers, fresh vegetables such as cucumber and zucchini, and occasional meaty foods such as brine shrimp.
